Wayuu' Striped Color Hand Bag

The Wayuu are the largest indigenous group in Colombia, living primarily in the arid La Guajira Peninsula (shared with Venezuela), known as the "people of the sun, sand, and wind". They are a resilient, matrilineal society, preserving their Arawakan language (Wayuunaiki), unique customs (like dream interpretation and specific burial rites), and vibrant handicrafts (especially woven bags, or mochilas) despite challenging desert conditions, poverty, and ongoing struggles for resources and autonomy.  All of our hand bags are indevidualy made in Colombia and imported specificly by the Painted Horse Trading Co.
